Warner Bros. to bring Keeper of the Lost Cities to the big screen

Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to Shannon Messenger’s bestselling fantasy book series Keeper of the Lost Cities.

Always on the lookout for future blockbuster IP, Deadline report that the studio has acquired the rights with the intention of turning it into a tentpole franchise.

The Keeper of the Lost Cities follows Sophie, a 12-year-old girl with secret telepathic ability, who’s actually not human but is from another world that exists side-by-side with ours. 

Warner Bros. will have nine installments to work from, which have sold over 7 million copies worldwide, the next of which,Unraveled, which will be published on November 12, 2024.

The series will be guided to the big screen by Avatar, The Martian and Logan producer Emma Watts.
