Warwick Davis will return for Star Wars: Episode VII

As if the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII wasn’t exciting enough, it has been officially announced that Warwick Davis will be making a triumphant return to the galaxy far, far away.

With a number of other iconic actors and actresses already set to reappear, including Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, the return of Davis is sure to spark even more excitement around the Star Wars community.

Making his debut in Return of the Jedi as the lovable Ewok Wicket, Davis also went on to play a double role in The Phantom Menace as Weazel and Wald.

The news has come directly from the Star Wars YouTube Channel and you can watch the amusing video announcement below…

The J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars: Episode VII will hit cinemas on December 18, 2015, but if you can’t wait that long for some light saber action then you can catch a special edition of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion which will be available Sunday, October 26.  Find out more about the special episode featuring the iconic voice of  James Earl Jones here.

Star Wars: Episode VII sees returning stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) joined by Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Miltos Yerolemou (Game of Thrones), Max von Sydow (The Exorcist), Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day) and newcomers Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen.
