Watch Zac Efron fight to survive in the trailer for Gold

December 8, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Zac Efron is a long way from East High School and the razmatazz of The Greatest Showman in the trailer for Australian survival thriller Gold.

Written and directed by co-star Anthony Hayes, along with co-writer and partner Polly Smyth, Gold puts Efron through a gruelling set of endurance tests that make The Revenant look like a cub-scout camping trip; check out the trailer below….

Set against the backdrop of a vast, unique and unforgiving landscape, Gold is a taut thriller about greed and the lengths people will go to secure themselves a fortune. When two drifters travelling through the desert stumble across the biggest gold nugget ever found, the dream of immense wealth and greed takes hold. They hatch a plan to protect and excavate their bounty with one man leaving to secure the necessary equipment. The other man remains and must endure the harsh desert climate, preying wolves and intruders, whilst battling the creeping doubt that he has been abandoned to his own fate.

You can find Gold in theatres on January 13th and it will become available for streaming on January 26th.
