Wesley Snipes rumoured to be returning as Blade

August 29, 2014 by Gary Collinson

It’s probably worth beginning this post with a warning – it’s almost certain that this “report” is a complete fabrication, without a shred of truth to it. So, now we’ve got that out of the way…

According the New York Daily News, Wesley Snipes has signed a deal to return as the Daywalker in a fourth instalment of the Blade franchise, netting $3 million upfront, plus a cut of the profits.

The article makes no mention of the fact that New Line – the studio behind the original Blade trilogy – have subsequently lost the rights to the franchise, which is now back with Marvel Studios.

We’ve heard absolutely nothing in the way of rumours that Marvel has any plans to introduce Blade into the Cinematic Universe, and if and when they do decide to do so – be it as a movie of TV series – it is highly, highly unlikely that they’ll call on Snipes to reprise his role, nor tie it into the established continuity of the original Blade trilogy.

In other words, don’t believe a word of this rubbish…
