And the winners of the 72nd Golden Globe Awards are…

The stars of the big and small screen gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California last night as the Hollywood Foreign Press Assocation presented the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards.

The big success of the night was Boyhood, which won three categories in Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director (Richard Linklater) and Best Supporting Actress (Patricia Arquette), while Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel scooped Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.

In the acting categories, there were wins for Julianna Moore (Best Actress – Drama for Still Alice), Amy Adams (Best Actress – Comedy or Musical for Big Eyes), Michael Keaton (Best Actor – Comedy or Musical for Birdman) and Eddie Redmayne (Best Actor – Drama for The Theory of Everything), while Redmayne was one of three British stars to be honoured alongside Joanne Froggatt (Best Supporting Actress for Downton Abbey) and Ruth Wilson (Best Actress – TV Series – Drama for The Affair).
