World of Tanks is remembering the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe with a brand-new event. From 6th to 13th May, players will be able to play an exclusive PvE mode, watch an historic livestream, gain Twitch Drops, in-game discounts and more. Watch the new trailer below…
The new PvE mission, Operation Postman, places players in the role of an elite Allied tank commander in the final days of World War II. This new mission requires players to deliver a message behind enemy lines to inform Allied troops that the war is over. Players will enter the battlefield in a uniquely camouflaged M24 Chaffee, supported by an international tank crew equipped with special tactical abilities, including ‘Scout Around’ to recon enemy positions and ‘False Order’ to mislead the German patrols.
Densely packed minefields will block approaches to the castle, so players will need to explore the enemy base, locate command posts and seek out maps that reveal a safe route to travel. Once the challenges are completed, this unique little Chaffee will remain as part of the player’s tank collection.
On 10th May at 16:00 BST/ 15:00 UTC, Wargaming will be presenting a special livestream commemorating VE Day from The Tank Museum in Bovington, UK. Hosted by World of Tanks Head of Military Relations and Tank Regiment Veteran Richard Cutland and Head of Marketing and Engagement at The Tank Museum, Nik Wyness, this livestream will talk to some very special guests as they talk about the significance of VE Day and the evolution of armoured vehicles during this dark time. Viewers will be able to gain some valuable Mystery Drops on Twitch throughout the stream, plus the chance to win premium vehicles.
Between 8th and 12th May, tank commanders can also earn x5 XP multipliers for the first victory of the day, get gold discounts on Premium vehicles and get discounts on researchable vehicles, consumables and equipment.
Be sure to join World of Tanks in remembering this very special anniversary of VE Day, and remember those who fought against evil so we can enjoy these games today.
