World of Warships update 0.10.7 brings submarines to ranked battles and Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These collaboration

August 10, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Update 0.10.7 has been announced for Wargaming’s naval warfare MMO, World of Warships.  This new update brings the terror that is submarines to ranked battles, a brand new dockyard and a unique collaboration with the anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These.   The new trailer below shows more of what’s new in update 0.10.7.

When submarines first arrived in the 20th century they completely changed naval warfare forever, now the same will happen to World of Warships with the arrival of subs in ranked battles.  Players are now able to experience the world beneath the waves by taking command of a submarine.  These deadly and stealthy vessels will allow players to try out four separate diving levels and also use acoustic homing torpedoes in combat.

Combat is not all in the submarine’s favour though as some battleships have been kitted out with anti-submarine defence aircraft while many light cruisers and destroyers have been equipped with depth charges.

These new vessels can be practiced in relaxed co-op battles and then put to the test in the special upcoming season of Ranked Battles.

The early access for Dutch cruisers continues with the options to build the Tier VIII ship De Zeven Provinciën at the new De Zeven Dockyard.  There’s also a special event that offers a commemorative flag and Klaas Jenssen, a Dutch commander with enhanced skills, as a reward.

Fans of World of Warships may be pleased to hear that the USS Missouri is making a return and is now at an equal economic level as other Premium Tier IX ships.  This ship can be purchased for Doubloons.

Finally, a collaboration with Japanese anime series, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, has been announced.  Players will be able to join commanders, Reinhard von Lohengramm from the Galactic Empire or Yang Wen-li from the Free Planets Alliance, as these mighty vessels fight it out.  Look out for more info on this collaboration coming soon.
