Zac Efron and Alison Brie join James Franco’s The Disaster Artist

December 11, 2015 by Gary Collinson

A couple of days ago we got our first look at James Franco as Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist [see here], the upcoming drama based upon the making of the cult classic The Room, and now THR has revealed that Zac Efron (Neighbors) has signed on to play a drug dealer in the film. Meanwhile, Alison Brie (Community) is also in negotiations for an unspecified role.

The Disaster Artist kicked off production earlier in the week, and sees Franco directing a cast that also includes his brother – and Alison Brie’s finace – Dave Franco (Unfinished Business), Seth Rogen (The Night Before), Kate Upton (The Other Woman), Ari Graynor (The Sopranos), Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), Andrew Santino (Sin City Saints), Hannibal Buress (Neighbors) and Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2). The film is based on the book of the same name by Greg Sestero, who played Mark in the original film.
