Zoe Kravitz to star in Disney’s High Fidelity TV series

September 28, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in April it was announced that Disney is developing a gender-swapped TV adaptation of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel High Fidelity for its upcoming streaming service, and now Deadline is reporting that Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) has signed on for the lead role.

The project, which has a 10-episode straight to season order, will see Kravitz playing a record store owner who is obsesses with music, pop culture, and top five lists. The character was previously portrayed by John Cusack in the 2000 movie adaptation.

High Fidelity is being written and executive produced by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka (Ugly Betty), while Scott Rosenberg (co-writer of the movie), Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec of Midnight Radio will also executive produce.

Kravitz will next be seen as the character of Leta Lestrange in Warner Bros.’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and also reprises her role as Bonnie Carlson for the second season of HBO’s acclaimed drama Big Little Lies.
