Zoe Saldana to lead NBC’s Rosemary’s Baby series

January 9, 2014 by admin

Last year, NBC announced it was to reboot Roman Polanski’s horror classic Rosemary’s Baby into a miniseries and Variety is now reporting that Star Trek Into Darkness and Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana has been tapped to play the lead.

The original is one of the great horror films of the 1960s and it will be interesting to see if NBC can work the same magic it achieved with Hannibal, which is set to begin its second season this year.

The original story focuses on a young couple who move to a Paris apartment that has a darkly storied past. After getting pregnant, the woman becomes increasingly suspicious that her husband and their mysterious neighbours have ulterior motives about the future of her child. Zoe Saldana has big boots to fill and if she can out “harrow” Mia Farrow, then it could be a success.
