Zombie survival game Zeverland gets a teaser trailer

November 26, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Quantum Quirks has announced the upcoming release of their zombie survival game Zeverland on Steam for PC. To celebrate this upcoming release, a new teaser is available (see below) showing 6 minutes of story, gameplay and more.

Following a seemingly harmless meteor shower, red spores began spreading across the world. Nearly everything in their path became infected and the course of humanity changed forever as people turned into Zeds and attacked the living.  There are still small groups of humans surviving in the world of Zeverland, and players will need to survive as long as they can, although death isn’t a game over.

Entering this ruined world as a survivor, players will need to navigate a constantly evolving environment where basic needs of food, water and a safe location need to be maintained.  Spanning 30-day phases, with each marked by changing seasons and weather, players will be required to complete quests such as restore landmarks and manage the infection.  A robust crafting system allows players to easily make a variety of weapons with which to kill Zeds.

Zeverland takes a fresh approach to the zombie survival genre with death not being the end of the game, rather than a game over or a respawn players can become a Zed, continue their journey through the game and gain a new way to play.  As a Zed, players no longer need food or water but do like to eat a bit of meat, living human is preferred but other zombies are also acceptable. Zeds are also able to replace limbs easily from other corpses and can gain abilities such as controlling other Zeds.

This upcoming survival game features:

  • A massive 24×24 km map with diverse environments to explore. Different areas have different infection levels.
  • Experience the game from both human and Zed perspectives.
  • A huge variety of items to craft using small amounts of items.
  • Massively multiplayer, allowing players to join with friends, strangers and NPCs to form settlements.
  • Fully customisable vehicles and Mobile Fortress RV that can be used to explore the map.

Zeverland will be arriving on Steam for PC in 2025.
