During an interview with the Press Assocation, Chloë Moretz has spoken about returning the role of Mindy Macready / Hit-Girl in the upcoming comic book movie sequel Kick-Ass 2, telling fans to expect a much more adult take on the teenage crime-fighter / killing machine:
"There's going to get a bit more romance, a much more grown up Mindy Macready," states Moretz, who will join the returning Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (The Red Mist) in the cast of the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel. "Someone who's questioning themself and whether they are a villain, assassin or a vigilante and a hero. So there's a lot of tormented inner self, it's interesting... It's been amazing revising the character and showing her more grown up and more adult and more put together. It's been a lot of fun."
Along with Moretz, Taylor-Johnson and Mintz-Plasse, Clark Duke (Marty / Battle Guy), Lyndsy Fonseca (Katie Deuxma) and Yancy Butler (Angie D'Amico) also reprise their roles from the 2010 cult hit, while newcomers to the franchise include Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes, John Leguizamo as Javier, Donald Faison as Doctor Gravity, Lindy Booth as Night Bitch, Andy Nyman as The Tumour, Robert Emms as Insect Man, Daniel Kaluuya as Black Death, Olga Kurkulina as Mother Russia, Morris Chestnut as Marcus Williams and Claudia Lee as Brooke.
Kick-Ass 2 is set for a North American release on June 28th and will arrive in the UK on July 19th.

Mindy is one of the most intriguing characters from the
ReplyDeletefirst movie, and I will be interested to see where her story goes in this
sequel. It makes sense that she will start to question her stance in the
superhero world, and I will be anxious to see what she decides by the end. I am
so excited for this movie to premiere, so I am glad that during the wait, I can
get my superhero fix using Blockbuster @Home from DISH. I really appreciate how
quick it is to get all of my movies delivered in the mail, especially with my
late work schedule at DISH. There’s nothing better than coming home after a
long day, and relaxing with a good movie. I also really like having the option
of exchanging a DVD in a Blockbuster store, for days I forget to send back a
movie I watched. Kick Ass is very different from many superhero movies as it’s
so rooted in reality, and I am interested to see how that affects Mindy’s
choices when this sequel premieres.
