Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson set to reteam for Shanghai Dawn

May 15, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Website Tracking Board is tonight reporting news that MGM is readying a “threequel” to Shanghai Noon, which starred Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan.

The third film, set to be called Shanghai Dawn, will see Wilson and Chan return to the roles of Roy O’Bannon and Chon Wang, which the duo played in 2000’s Shanghai Noon and 2003’s Shanghai Knights. Both films were written by Alfred Gough and Miles Miller, with Tom Dey (Failure to Launch) directing the first and Wedding Crashers helmer David Dobkin the second.

Both films took almost $190 million at the worldwide box-office combined, so rumours of a third film are nothing new.

What do you think of a new Shanghai Noon film? Would it generate enough interest nearly 12 years later? Leave us your thoughts in the comments section below…
