Julian Lewis Jones joins Justice League cast in mystery role

July 5, 2016 by Justin Cook

During a recent interview with WalesOnline, Welsh actor Julian Lewis Jones confirmed that he will appear in Zack Snyder’s 2017 superhero team-up film Justice League. Jones did not go on to say what role he’ll be taking on, which makes him one of the few actors attached to the film whose character’s identity is unknown.

The actor said, “I’m not allowed to say yet what part I play but let’s just say I’ve a role in what will likely be the most expensive film ever made. It was filmed at Warner Brother’s studio at Leavesden as well as at various locations around the UK and Iceland. Directed by Zack Snyder it stars Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons and host of A-list actors. I’m just happy to have been involved and I’m looking forward to the movie’s release which will be next year.”

As is usually the case with major blockbusters such as this one, the key members of the cast are announced before production begins, but once filming commences, some of the other actors involved with the project are slowly revealed to the public. Justice League began principal photography in April and is still filming, so it’s not unreasonable to believe that other additions to the cast will be revealed over the next few months.

Jones’ name may not pack the same punch as Ben Affleck’s or Amy Adams’, but he is an underappreciated actor who has been delivering solid performances for years. His most notable performances include parts in Clint Eastwood’s Invictus and the British comedy-drama series Stella.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 17th 2017.
