The fate of Hellboy 3 decided by Twitter

January 19, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Guillermo Del Toro is pretty keen on this social media thing, regularly taking to places like Twitter to connect with his dedicated fans and tease projects with friend and video game director Hideo Kojima.

He is so keen on the platform in fact that he decided to ask his fans in a twitter poll to decide the fate of the long awaited Hellboy 3.

Unsurprisingly, the result was unanimous in the favour of continuing the Ron Perlman franchise. GDT didn’t promise to make the film if the results went the right way, but has said that this will at least get the ball rolling.

He has even spoken to Perlman about having a chat regarding the proposed sequel, and he has apparently agreed.

I spoke with Ron Perlman. He's in for the sit down. Will approach Mignola next. Will keep you posted. Very moved by your love of pt I & II

We will have to wait and see if anything comes of this of course, but with the fate of films and beloved franchises now being decided on the whims of Twitter fans, it is certainly making social media a little more fun.

Perhaps give Mr Del Toro a follow and who knows, you might be greenlighting the sequel to Pan’s Labyrinth.
