Saoirse Ronan wishes she hadn’t went public about Star Wars: Episode VII audition

November 11, 2013 by admin

It seems as if every young actor currently working in Hollywood has auctioned for the as yet titled Star Wars: Episode VII, one of these being Irish starlet Saoirse Ronan, the Oscar nominated star of Atonement, Hanna and How I Live Now. She herself revealed that she auditioned during the summer and in doing so it seems she’s ruined her chance to star.

Talking to The Playlist, Ronan revealed that, “I don’t have the role. I just shouldn’t have said anything. I just auditioned for it, like everyone else did. To pretend that you have a lightsaber in a scene is always very exciting. It would be great but it’s something that everyone’s going up for.” It’s a shame that she looks set to be out of the running as Ronan one of the more gifted actresses working today.

While Ronan may be out of contention the public can now audition online. This follows the open auditions around the UK and United States, with the producers looks to cast two leads: “a street smart girl in her late teens and a smart capable man in his early 20s”.

For those confident enough to audition, you can do so via the Cast It Talent website.
