Kevin Smith’s next movie to be “Jaws with a moose”

July 29, 2014 by Luke Owen

It seems the Clerks director is moving away from comedy and keeping with his new horror vibe.

Kevin Smith dropped the first trailer for his latest movie Tusk at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend and now it looks like it will be the first part of a trilogy.

Smith announced during his panel that Tusk, a movie that sees a podcaster be turned into a Walrus by a psychopath, will be the first part of the “True North Trilogy“.  The other movies will be the previously announced Yoga Hosers and the newly announced Moose Jaws.

Being described by the director as “Jaws with a moose”, Moose Jaws will feature some of the same cast as Tusk and will have a scene where a moose eats a little girl.

Tusk opens in the States on September 19th with a cast that includes Justin Long (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story), Michael Parks (Red State), Genesis Rodriquez (The Last Stand), Haley Joel Osmont (The Sixth Sense), Harley Morenstein (Epic Meal Time), Ralph Garman (A Million Ways to Die in the West) and Johnny Depp (The Lone Ranger). No word yet on a UK release, although a deal is in place.
