Friday the 13th pushed back (again) to 2016

January 29, 2015 by Gary Collinson

The return to the big screen of Jason Voorhees has been a tough one so far. Since returning to Paramount last year in a deal between Warner Bros. over distribution rights to Interstellar, Friday the 13th has moved dates a few times. It was originally set for the first quarter of 2015, before being pushed back to November 13th, 2015.

Well, now it’s been pushed back further as Paramount have announced that Friday the 13th will now be released on May 13th, 2016.

This comes off the news that a script had not been written for Friday the 13th, which is set to be directed by David Bruckner (The Signal).

We still don’t know full details of what to expect from the thirteenth instalment of the Friday the 13th franchise. There have been rumours of a found footage style (which could still be a possibility), a Jason-less movie (which has since been debunked) and a look into the relationship between Jason and his mother Pamela Voorhees.

The as-of-now titled Friday the 13th is now set for release on May 13, 2016. And yes, that is still a Friday.
