New Friday the 13th to feature the return of Pamela Voorhees; will NOT be PG-13

December 8, 2014 by Luke Owen

Much has been said (and not said) about the new Friday the 13th, which will be brought to us by Platinum Dunes and Paramount Pictures, the spiritual home of Friday the 13th.

In the past we’ve heard that it would be 3D, found footage and – more surprisingly, Jason Voorhees-less!

In the same interview where Brad Fuller and Andrew Form where they revealed Bebop and Rocksteady would be in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, they also revealed that Friday the 13th could feature a returning character.

“Sex, drugs, always beautiful people dying, these things do not change. And we can develop more problematic relationship with the mother,” the pair say.

“The Mother” of course could be an indication that Pamela Voorhees will be returning to the Friday the 13th franchise. Fans will remember Pamela as the original killer in Sean S. Cunningham’s Friday the 13th before her son Jason took the reigns from Friday the 13th Part 2 onwards. These claims (which have been translated) also seem to debunk the previous rumours that Jason would not feature in the movie.

And what of the rating? “There is no PG-13 version in the world of Jason Voorhees,” the producers said.

This new Friday the 13th will be the thirteenth movie in the franchise and is set for release on 13th November 2015 and will be directed by David Bruckner (The Signal).
