Friday the 13th pushed back eight months, Scouts vs. Zombies brought forward

June 2, 2014 by admin

Since heading back into the hands of Paramount, there has been a lot of movement on the next instalment of the Friday the 13th series. There were rumours of the franchise heading down the found footage route and there was even talk that the hockey mask wearing slasher would not be making an appearance. The latest news on the project was that V/H/S director David Brucker would be taking the lead and that a new TV show based around Jason was in development.

Well, fans of the franchise will be sad to hear that the 13th movie in the iconic slasher franchise has been pushed back a whole eight months while Paramount’s other horror film for 2015, Scouts vs. Zombies, has been brought forward into its place.

What does this mean for Camp Crystal Lake? Well given that Paramount have yet to announce a director, writer or star, it would suggest they just aren’t ready to move forward, while Scouts vs. Zombies already has a cast in place.

Friday the 13th will be now released on November 13th 2015. And yes, that is still a Friday.

Scouts vs. Zombies will be released March 13th 2015 and is directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activities: The Marked Ones) and stars Halston Sage (Neighbours), Tye Sherdian (Mud), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Grown Ups 2) and David Koechner (Cheap Thrills). The movie follows a group of Boy Scouts who try to fend off a zombie attack in their small town.
