Last Week Tonight host John Oliver has become the latest addition to the cast of Disney’s The Lion King remake, with the actor and comedian set to lend his voice to the character of Zazu, voiced by Rowan Atkinson in the original animated movie.
Oliver joins a cast that includes Donald Glover (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Simba, Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street) as Timon and Seth Rogen (Sausage Party). James Earl Jones is also set to reprise his role as Mufasa from the original 1994 classic.
The Lion King is being directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book) from a script by Jeff Nathanson (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) and is slated to hit cinemas on July 19th 2019.
