X-Men producer would “love” to join up with the MCU

November 29, 2017 by Samuel Brace

An X-Men producer has said that she would “love” to see her franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe join up.

The idea of the X-Men and the Avengers one day sharing the big screen has been cause for excitement of fans around the world for years. Recent news of Disney potentially buying 20th Century Fox has only added fuel to that fire.

One of the producers on Fox’s X-Men movies, Lauren Shuler Donner, has expressed her own interesting in working with Marvel Studios, speaking to Vanity Fair in their cover spread of Avengers: Infinity War.

Donner has worked with Kevin Feige before (Feige co-produced X-Men and X2 with Donner) and seems excited about linking up again for an X-Men/Avengers collaboration: “Well, I wish. I would love it, I would love it. But it’s not for me to say.”

Feige himself chimed in on the subject saying: “Well, the problem is whenever I say anything about it, it becomes 15 headlines. So would we like to? Yeah, of course. Is there any movement toward it at all? No. Same thing. Same status.”

Fans eager to see all their favourite Avengers and mutants on screen together will just have to continue crossing their fingers that a deal gets made.
