Wonder Woman 1984 adds Natasha Rothwell to its cast

Wonder Woman 1984 has been filming for a month, but the film has added one more addition to its cast. Deadline has reported Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon) is the latest to join the anticipated film.

Rothwell’s role is being kept under wraps for the time being. She joins a cast that includes Gal Gadot as Diana/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as a returning Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah and Game of Thrones‘ Pedro Pascal. Like Rothwell, Pascal’s role is also being kept secret. Patty Jenkins has returned to direct the sequel.

Rothwell was a writer on Saturday Night Live and starred in and produced HBO’s Insecure. She recently gained another role in the live-action/animation hybrid Sonic The Hedgehog.

Wonder Woman 1984 sees Gal Gadot once again leading the cast as Diana Prince alongside the returning Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Ewen Bremner (Charlie), Said Taghmaoui (Sameer), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe), Doutzen Kroes (Venelia) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) and Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon) in an as-yet-unrevealed roles.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set for release on November 1st 2019.
