My Little Pony joins Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures slate along with G.I. Joe, Micronauts and Dungeons & Dragons

February 16, 2019 by Gary Collinson

During an investor call timed to coincide with the New York Toy Fair, Hasbro has announced a new addition to its upcoming Allspark Pictures slate, with a brand new My Little Pony movie announced for release in 2021.

As you can see from above, My Little Pony joins fellow Hasbro properties G.I. Joe, Micronauts, and Dungeons & Dragons, with the latter three all set to receive live-action adaptations. Details on My Little Pony are scarce, but it has been confirmed that the film will be a CG-animated feature.

Paramount and Hasbro had previously announced release dates of March 27th 2020 for G.I. Joe, October 16th 2020 for Micronauts, July 23rd 2021 for Dungeons & Dragons, along with an as-yet-unrevealed date of October 1st 2020, which will presumably be filled by My Little Pony.

Hasbro’s last My Little Pony movie, based upon the TV series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, was released by Lionsgate in October 2017 and grossed over $60 million at the box office from a $6.5 million budget.
