Mysterious teaser for Hereditary director Ari Aster’s new horror Midsommar

February 26, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

A24 has released a mysterious teaser for Ari Aster’s (Hereditary) upcoming horror Midsommar, which doesn’t offer up any footage from the movie, but certainly seems fitting for what the filmmaker has previously described as a ‘Scandavian Folk Horror’; check it out here…

Midsommar will see Florence Pugh (Fighting with my Family), Jack Reynor (On the Basis of Sex) as a couple who travel to Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. And, what begins as an idyllic retreat, quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

The Film is set for release on August 9th and also stars Will Poulter (Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), and William Jackson Parker (The Good Place).
