Generation Zero arrives on Xbox One, PS4 and PC

March 26, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Avalanche Studios has announced the release of their robot apocalypse shooter Generation Zero on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.  Set in 1980’s Sweden, Generation Zero will pit players against deadly machines in a vast open world.

Generation Zero will see players take on a variety of hostile machines intent on wiping out the human population as they uncover the mystery as to where these machines came from.  Battles will take place through a huge open world which can be explored and will feature a full day/night cycle complete with unpredictable weather patterns.

Players will be able to play alone or join up to three friends in seamless co-op multiplayer and combine their skills to destroy the deadly machines.  By using guerrilla tactics players will be able to cripple and destroy enemies and any damage done on a machine, whether that be a destroyed weapon, sensory equipment or piece of armour, will permanently remain damaged.

“Every game we release is equally important for us, but the launch of Generation Zero is exciting as it’s the start of a new action franchise that we will evolve in close collaboration with our players over the coming years. We have a great history of building action-packed open world games together with tier one publishers, but this is the first action game we release within our self-publishing organisation,” says Pim Holfve, CEO of Avalanche Studios.

”The team is thrilled to finally get Generation Zero into the hands of players around the world and start receiving impressions and feedback,” says Paul Keslin, Product Owner at Avalanche Studios. “We’re looking forward to sharing more about our plans for what lies ahead, but more importantly we want to shape those plans together with the community. This collaboration will impact the world of Generation Zero in the months and years ahead!”

Generation Zero is available now on PC and consoles.
