PlayStation 4 beta for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne starts this week

June 19, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Capcom has announced the details for the Playstation 4 beta sessions of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne starting this week.  This highly anticipated expansion will  begin at 11am BST, 21st June and run til 24th June with a second beta from 28th June to 1st July.  Preload options will be available a couple of days prior to the beta.  Take a sneak peak of what’s to come in the new trailer below…

The Iceborne beta will provide players with three quest choices, these include the Great Jagras hunt for beginners, the new horned brute wyvern Banbaro for an intermediate challenge and the fan favourite Tigrex for the most skilled of hunters.  To hunt these beasts, players will have access to all 14 weapon types and utilise some of the new features, plus there are new Slinger tool options such as the Clutch Claw grapple mechanic.

Players completing each quest for the first time during the beta will be able to earn a total of three item packs, each of which containing useful consumable items that will be available to use in the full version of the Iceborne expansion.

The Iceborne expansion will release on Xbox One and PS4 on 6th September with a PC version to follow shortly after.  Players will need to have completed the main story through Hunter Rank 16 in order to access the new story and quests, although they will be able to enjoy the Slinger and weapon updates straight away.
