Daisy Ridley teases that Dark Rey is real in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

August 28, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Daisy Ridley, one of the stars of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, has teased that Dark Rey may actually be real.

As soon as people saw Rey appear with her double-sided red lightsaber in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker teaser, most assumed that the image was probably from a vision of some sort – that Rey won’t actually be turning to the dark side in Episode IX.

But is there a chance she actually could? Well, in a recent interview with Yahoo, actress Daisy Ridley teased that the clip might be more reliable than first thought: “I mean, the evidence is on the screen. Take that evidence as you will. But there’s no smoke without fire.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean she’s definitely going to turn but it does suggest that something dark and twisted might be emerging in Rey during the course of the movie. Whatever happens, it’s going to be fun to find out!
