Jason Bateman is in talks to direct Clue reboot

September 26, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Fresh off winning an Emmy for directing Ozark, Jason Bateman is currently in talks to direct and star in the Clue reboot alongside cast member Ryan Reynolds, according to The Wrap.

Fox and Disney are behind the comedic murder-mystery movie based on the iconic Hasbro board game, which was previously adapted in 1985 and directed by Johnathan Lynn, featuring a cast of Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, and Lesley Ann Warren as they attempt to discover who killed Mr. Boddy. However, this reboot is not connected to the original 1985 feature.

Zombieland and Deadpool writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, were hired to write the screenplay back in 2018 as part of three-year, first-look deal with Fox. Reynolds’s Maximum Effort is set to produce the film alongside Hasbro Studios’ Allspark Pictures.
