Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld believes Deadpool 3 and X-Force movies are “inevitable”

December 17, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld believes Deadpool 3 and X-Force movies are “inevitable” at Marvel Studios despite no official word from Disney regarding the franchise.

#Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld thinks an #XForce movie and "Deadpool 3" are "inevitable": "It's a billion-dollar franchise" https://t.co/ojxdaMFxFh pic.twitter.com/uULPBgIvlN

— Variety (@Variety) December 17, 2019

“You know, I just hope they can get it together,” Liefeld said in an interview with Variety at the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker. “Fans want it. Fans want to see it. The whole thing about Deadpool is that culture moves so fast now and two years ago feels like twenty. There were two R-rated movies — and they were R-rated movies — that together made $1.2 billion and yes, I looked at those and counted them up.”

He adds, “After the first weekend, I called Ryan and said ‘It’s a billion-dollar franchise!’ We were very excited. So I think Deadpool 3…X-Force …inevitable. I mean, come on. Josh Brolin, Ryan Reynolds, and now with Disney. How is that not the biggest thing, right?”

As mentioned above, Disney and Marvel are yet to reveal their official plans for the franchise. However, the first Deadpool movie grossed a staggering $783.1 million worldwide, while Deadpool 2 found similar success, earning $785 million and proving that they have a hit on its hands should they decide to continue the series.

Would you like to see future instalments in the Deadpool franchise? Do you think Disney will continue with the existing setup, or look to reboot the series? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…
