Evolution Studio has announced a change in release date for their multiplayer online battle arena title Blood of Steel. Originally scheduled for release this January, the developers have pushed the release date back one month to 20th February to allow more time to refine gameplay so that it meets player’s expectations.
As well as a change in release date, the developer has also announced the addition of a new in-game store that allows players to buy an assortment of weapons, skins and heroes to personalise their gaming experience. All purchases are cosmetic only with no ‘pay to win’ features so the core experience remains the same.
“The introduction of the Blood of Steel in-game store gives players the ability to create a unique identity with the new weapons, skins and heroes that are available,” said Cao, Game Director of YC Games. “And with the extra month before release we can ensure the game is of the highest quality.”
In Blood of Steel players will command the army of a legendary commander and set out in battle against other players online to conquer cities and expand their territory. Each player will command up to 40 AI soldiers and use these in a range of battle sizes from 5 v 5 to 10 v 10. As well as devising strategies based on the amount of troops players can also use the terrain and dynamic weather systems such as rain and snow to their advantage. As well as army based warfare, players can also take part in 1v1 duels in the Heroes Arena.
Look out for Blood of Steel arriving on Steam on 20th February.
