The Batman set photos feature Arkham City-like goons

Following on from yesterday’s first glimpse of Robert Pattinson in the Batsuit, some new photos have arrived online from the London set of The Batman which are reportedly from second unit filming and show a mysterious group of goons with black-and-white face paint attacking a Gotham City citizen.

It’s unclear who these guys are working for, but there’s a definite Batman: Arkham City-vibe about them – and given that we can see one holding a smart phone, it seems safe to debunk all of those rumours suggesting the movie will be taking place in the 1990s. The Batman sees Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) donning the cape and cowl as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano (Escape at Dannemora) as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Carmine Falcone, Alex Ferns (Chernobyl) as Commissioner Pete Savage, Con O’Neill (Ordinary Lies) as Chief Mackenzie Bock, Peter Sarsgaard (The Killing) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson and Jayme Lawson (Farewell Amor) as Bella Real.
