Patty Jenkins praises director Taika Waititi, says Thor: Ragnarok is “one of the best Marvel movies of all time”

January 6, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Wonder Woman franchise director Patty Jenkins, who was once attached to direct Thor: The Dark World for Marvel Studios before departing the sequel over creative differences, has praised Marvel Cinematic Universe director Taika Waititi and his work on Thor: Ragnarok.

During an appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Jenkins stated that she is grateful that Marvel Studios and the Thor franchise found Taika Waititi because he is the perfect fit for the series, while also calling Thor: Ragnarok “one of the best Marvel movies of all time.”

“[Ragnarok] was such a good movie. I’m actually so grateful that Thor found Taika because Taika is the most genius fit for Thor of all time. It’s amazing,” Jenkins said. “Thor: Ragnarok is one of the best Marvel movies of all time, it’s so good. That movie is pure joy, and so well executed. … It’s not gonna matter [if you’re not into superhero movies]. Taika is a great filmmaker, and he just made a great film.”
