Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor revealed on Thor: Love and Thunder promo poster

December 11, 2021 by Gary Collinson

With Marvel Studios’ fourth and final release of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home, set to arrive in cinemas around the world this coming week, attention will soon start shifting to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 2022 line-up, which kicks off in May with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness before Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in July and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever rounds things out in November.

As yet, there’s been nothing in the way of official marketing for any of next year’s movies, but what we assume to be a licensed promotional poster for Thor: Love and Thunder has been spotted in the wild and is currently doing the rounds on Twitter (via BlueBoy8000) which gives us our first look at Taika Waititi’s sequel, including a couple of new costumes for Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder, the returning Korg (Waititi) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and a first look at Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as the Mjolnir-wielding Mighty Thor!

UPDATE: Director Taika Waititi has taken to clarify that this isn’t the official poster for the movie (it is however an officially licensed product from poster distributors Pyramid):

This is so bad that I kinda wish it was an official poster. It's definitely what I would have done if I was in charge of posters. https://t.co/OnW7K2ubo3

Directed by Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi, who also reprises his on-screen role as Korg, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), alongside the returning Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Sean Gunn (Kraglin) and Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari) as Gorr the God Butcher.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on July 8th 2022.
