Gal Gadot gives update on Wonder Woman 3

January 7, 2022 by Ricky Church

As Warner Bros. and DC continue to map out the future of DC films, Wonder Woman superstar Gal Gadot has given a brief update on the third film from her and director Patty Jenkins.

In an interview with InStyle, Gadot was asked about where they stand with Wonder Woman 3. While Gadot’s response is brief, it does shed light on where they currently are in the development process and, given Gadot’s busy schedule, when they expect to begin production as she said “We’re developing the script right now. We’ll probably start in a year and a half or so.”

Wonder Woman 3 will be written and directed by Jenkins with Gadot reprising her role as Diana. It has also been confirmed original Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter will return for the film after having a cameo in Wonder Woman 1984 as Asteria, a legendary Amazon who was thought to have died after sacrificing herself to save her Amazonian sisters. Carter starred as Wonder Woman for the three season series which ran from 1976 – 1979.

There are no plot details yet for the film, but while Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 have been set in the past Jenkins has previously hinted Wonder Woman 3 will bring audiences to the present day. While it may be a long wait for the third film, Gadot may suit up again as Diana sooner than later as rumours have suggested she will cameo in this year’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods and possibly The Flash.
