Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has wrapped filming

May 7, 2022 by Liam Waddington

Writer and director James Gunn has confirmed that filming has officially wrapped on Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after beginning production back in November 2021.

Taking to Twitter, the director made the announcement with a cast photograph which includes Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, James Gunn, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Dave Bautista all sharing a celebratory drink.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the third and final instalment in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and conclude the main storyline of Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Mantis. It will also be preceded by The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, a Disney+ project which shot back-to-back with Vol. 3 and is set to air on the streamer this December.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will see the return of Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord) and Elizabeth Debecki (Ayesha), alongside newcomers Will Poulter (Dopesick) as Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji (Peacemaker) in as-yet-unrevealed role.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set for release on May 5th 2023.
