James Gunn’s Creature Commandos gains an all-star cast including Frank Grillo and David Harbour

April 12, 2023 by EJ Moreno

As we near the start of the James Gunn and Peter Safran DC Studios era, the news is starting to roll in concerning one of its most exciting projects.

Collider broke the story today that the animated series Creature Commandos will have a jam-packed array of voice talents, ranging from DC veterans to former Marvel actors like Frank Grillo and David Harbour.

The series will feature the voice talents of Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as The Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot and Weasel, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos.

Per Collider, the Creature Commandos team works under the supervision of Amanda Waller. Though Viola Davis could still return to voice Waller, it seems like Agee’s John Economos will serve as her eyes and ears for this horror-based team.

The Creatures Commandos project is reportedly one of the “central pieces of the new DCU’s Gods and Monsters arc,” with the seven-episode show leading to future live-action appearances from the team of monsters featuring their voice actors in live-action versions.
