Developer Joure Visser’s 90s-inspired survival horror DEADCAM is now available on Steam Early Access. This J-horror takes players through a series of scary encounters using a found footage style. The Early Access launch will provide players with the first encounter. A new launch trailer can be seen below…
With a gritty 90’s aesthetic, DEADCAM’s Early Access version will take players through an abandoned Japanese high school where they will encounter some spooky goings on in the darkness. Offering roughly an hour of gameplay, players will be able to explore the school, find and use three weapons: a katana, a pistol and a shotgun, and seek out all three possible endings. Only one route will unlock the “good” ending and players will have to explore their surroundings strategically to unlock it. Throughout the Early Access period, there will be the addition of four more encounters to scare and excite.
When the game fully launches, it will feature a diverse range of stories ranging from survival horror to psychological thrillers. Each of these stories is self-contained and players will need to finish each before proceeding to the next. Throughout each encounter, retro UI elements monitor haunted activity in the area and will inform players of the size and speed of nearby enemy mobs. These mobs may make their way to the player singularly or even as a horde.
