Fast-paced tank battler World of Tanks: HEAT blasting on to PC and consoles

August 21, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Wargaming has unveiled its new standalone free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter World of Tanks: HEAT at this year’s Gamescom event. World of Tanks: HEAT will take place in an alternative post World War II era and give players opportunities to take part in fast-paced 10v10 battles in hero-enhanced tanks. A new announcement trailer can be seen below, showing the excitement coming to players…

The franchise’s tactical tank combat gets faster and more explosive in World of Tanks: HEAT as players use a variety of different experimental vehicles to dominate the battle. Each of these tanks will have unique abilities and powers, and players will be able to customise these with different advanced weapon systems, armour modules, visual upgrades and more.

Players will be able to jump into specialised tanks (inspired from original designs) with unique roles and using their hero-enhanced abilities, use their skills and powers to bring about victory for their team through a number of different game modes adapted from classic shooter modes, including Kill Сonfirmed, Domination, and Conquest.

Thanks to Wargaming’s new proprietary engine, players will be able to enjoy stunning graphics, immersive environments, and dynamic cinematic effects.

“World of Tanks: HEAT is our bold vision for the franchise, delivering an entirely new tank experience with a fresh setting, new gameplay mechanics, faster pace, and cutting-edge tech,” said Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming. “Inheriting the renowned World of Tanks DNA, the game lets players enjoy tank warfare like never before, battling in ways we once only could imagine.”
