A brand new Doctor Who: The Sixth Doctor audio adventure coming this May

February 7, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish Productions has announced that a new Sixth Doctor Adventures box set will be arriving on their website in May.  The Doctor Who – The Sixth Doctor Adventures: The Cosmos and Mrs Clarke box set will see the Sixth Doctor and his companion Mrs Constance Clarke embark on three more adventures where they’ll meet old friends and old enemies.

The new adventures for the Sixth Doctor are The Story Demon by Julian Richards, Inconstancy by Ian Potter and The Key to Many Worlds by Paul Magrs.  More info on Inconstancy and The Story Demon may be revealed at a later date, but here’s a bit more info on the third adventure.

The Key to Many Worlds by Paul Magrs takes the Doctor and Constance to thirteenth-century Baghdad, where they get to meet an ageing Marco Polo. Polo has been asked to transport Iris Wildthym (a popular creation of Magrs) back to Venice, however she isn’t fond of being treated like a prisoner so somehow manages to swap bodies with the Doctor.

Colin Baker resumes his role as the Sixth Doctor, Miranda Raison plays Constance and Katy Manning returns as the mischievous Iris Wildthyme.  Terry Molloy, best known to Doctor Who fans as Davros will play Marco Polo.

Writer Paul Magrs said: “The Key to Many Worlds was a great chance to reunite two great voices – Katy and Colin – from The Wormery all those years ago, and to twine them not only in one of my favourite Doctor Who genres, the historical saga, but also in one of my favourite science-fiction tropes, the mind-swap.”

Colin Baker added: “Upon reading this script, my first reaction was, oh, good, another one that’s good and clever and touching and rather exciting. Things get turned on their head!”

Doctor Who – The Sixth Doctor Adventures: The Cosmos and Mrs Clarke is available to pre-order now from the Big Finish website for £24.99 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) or £19.99 (download only).  A bundle with the second Sixth Doctor Adventures box set (release date to be confirmed) can be pre-ordered for £47 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) or £38 for the download only.
