Activision provides intel on Call of Duty Mobile’s Battle Royale mode

May 22, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Activision has provided details on the Battle Royale mode for Call of Duty Mobile.  This mode has been custom built for the mobile game and features a huge map filled with iconic locations from the Call of Duty universe.

Call of Duty Mobile’s Battle Royale mode will feature a sprawling map that set out to provide thrilling and exciting gameplay for up to 100 rivals.  Players can head into battle solo or team up with either a friend or 3 friends.  Before the match starts, players will be able to choose from one of six classes, each with their own abilities and skills, choose from a variety of Loadout elements, including camos and skins and then drop into the map, find weapons and gear and survive.

The initial six character classes will include:

  • Defender – Able to place a deformable Transform Shield and is Reinforced making it more resistant to non-bullet damage.
  • Scout – Can use a Sensor Dart that can view hostile positions in the immediate area and has the Tracker ability.
  • Mechanic – Can call an EMP drone and has the Engineer ability.
  • Clown – Has a Toy Bomb weapon that summons zombies while also benefiting from a reduced zombies aggression distance.
  • Medic – Can place a Medic Station which will continuously heal the player and their allies.
  • Ninja – Has a Grapple Gun that allows fast movement up buildings or across the landscape and can move quietly thanks to the Dead Silence ability.

Once battle starts players will have to start scavenging for equipment and weapons then either start shooting or hide and hope for the best, whichever tactic you plump for it is recommended to move fast.  Those fighting as part of a pair or a quartet will also be likely to have to dash to their aid at some point and sort out a bit of reviving.

The Battle Royale mode will allow players to access the Backpack (and therefore access to the  health, armour, and other equipment) and teach certain maneuvers, including crouching, going prone, jumping and mantling over objects and marking positions on maps.

Pre-Registration is available for Call of Duty: Mobile on Android and iOS by visiting www.callofduty.com/mobile.
