Alawar’s sensei-tional Karate Survivor is coming to consoles

August 7, 2025 by Andrew Newton

The 80s-inspired action roguelite, Karate Survivor, will be kicking its way onto PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles on 28th August, allowing gamers to use the environment and their body to creatively dismember their enemies.

Just like the majority of 80’s action flicks, Karate Survivor allows players to use just about anything as a weapon in this hard-hitting martial arts roguelite. Use hands, feet, dumpsters, and even the fish out of the freezer to help take down the endless waves of bad guys as they flood the streets and rooftops.

Players will battle through a variety of different areas, each with its own features and objects that can be used as weapons. Take on waves of enemies and defeat powerful bosses in epic battles.  Each battle pays homage to the adrenaline-fueled scenes of ‘80s action movies and becomes a test of the player’s martial arts skills and ability to survive.

Featuring:

  • Improvised combat with a large variety of would-be weaponry.
  • Use the surroundings to your advantage. Bring down scaffolding on top of enemies or push objects into them.
  • Create hundreds of unique combo attacks from up to six different attacks tailored to your fighting style.
  • Collect experience to unlock new permanent techniques and skills between runs.
  • Rapid, intense street battles where anything goes.

Karate Survivor arrives on consoles on 28th August.
