Benedict Cumberbatch briefly talks Doctor Strange

December 8, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Marvel Studios finally put an end to the speculation surrounding the casting of Dr. Stephen Strange last week when Benedict Cumberbatch was announced as having secured the role of the Sorcerer Supreme in 2016’s Doctor Strange.

Cumberbatch was at the British Independent Film Awards last night, where he was receiving the Variety Award, and HeyUGuys managed to grab a few words from The Imitation Game star on his upcoming role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“Excited, really excited”, said Cumberbatch when asked how he felt about nabbing the role. “There’s a lot of work to be done and I’m just at the beginning of it all so I’m not going to talk much about it, but it’s a thrilling gig to get and I just can’t wait. Very excited.”

Doctor Strange is set for release on November 4th 2016, with Scott Derrickson (Sinister) directing.
