Black Mirror to be adapted into a book series

June 14, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror has made quite an impact since its inception in 2011. The show made waves domestically, as well as internationally, until it was eventually shipped over to Netflix streaming for a phenomenal third season.

With a fourth season currently in the works, series creator Brooker certainly has his hands full. However, Brooker has now announced another Black Mirror project is being developed: a book series. The books will follow the same anthology format as the show, with each story being written by a different notable writer.

Brooker took to Twitter to make the announcement, and also to poke fun at the ironic medium for this upcoming project:

We're pleased to announce Black Mirror will soon be available in high-tech 'paper' format: https://t.co/FWk6s5bND5 #BlackMirrorBook

This seems like a great fit for the Black Mirror universe. Horror anthologies have always thrived in literature, and with Brooker’s signature style, this is sure to be a hit. Expect the first wave of books on February 20th, 2018.

“Black Mirror is a British science fiction television anthology series created by Charlie Brooker and centred around dark and satirical themes that examine modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies.”
