Black Panther has become the ninth-highest grossing movie ever in North America

March 7, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Black Panther is now the ninth highest grossing movie ever at the US box office.

Ryan Coogler’s film has been racking up all kinds of awards and accolades since it released in theatres, piling up the cash in the process.

This past weekend, Black Panther crossed the prestigious $500 million mark in the US, taking its worldwide haul to over $900 million. This makes it’s the fifth highest grossing MCU movie ever across all markets.

But thanks to an additional $4.7 million on Monday (via ComicBook.com), Black Panther has now become the ninth highest grosser ever at the US box office. With a current total of $506.4 million, Black Panther is now ahead of Beauty and the Beast ($504 million) and positioned behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($532 million).

It’s been three straight weekends at the top of the domestic box office for Black Panther and it will look to defend its title from the debut of Wrinkle in Time next time around.
