Brian Tyree Henry’s Bass X Machina animated series set for Netflix premiere

February 19, 2026 by Ricky Church

Netflix has picked up Bass x Machina, an adult animated series from Brian Tyree Henry (Bullet Train) that will premiere on the streamer this fall. Henry voices the main character Bass as he strives to protect his family in a steampunk-inspired wild west.

Bass x Machina is set in a lawless steampunk West overrun by brutal outlaws, machines, and supernatural terrors, where a father is forced to become judge, jury, and executioner — knowing that every act of justice meant to protect his family may ultimately cost him the very people he’s fighting to save.

Starring alongside Henry are Janelle Monáe (Glass Onion) as Glory, Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Dana, Cree Summer (The Legend of Vox Machina) as Ahni, Chaske Spencer (Marvel’s Echo) as Lighthorse, Currie Graham (Homestead) as Rivenbark and Starletta DuPois (One Battle After Another) as Etta.

Henry executive produces with LeSean Thomas, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley and Chad Handley with Studio Mir animating the series. Wondaland’s Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder are composing the score.

Bass x Machina will premiere on Netflix on October 6th.
