Brute 1976 trailer teases a bloody retro slasher homage

June 11, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Cinephobia Releasing has shared a poster and trailer for director Marcel Walz’s 70s-set slasher Brute 1976.

Paying homage to cult classics The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, the film centres on a group of people who stumble across what they believe is an abandoned town in the desert, unaware that a family of masked psychopaths reside there.

The cast includes Adriane McLean, Sarah French, Gigi Gustin, Dazelle Yvette, and Adam Bucci. Check out the trailer below…

In 1976 a group of people in the desert for a photo shoot, stumble upon an abandoned town called Savage. But they are not alone. A family of masked psychopaths have claimed Savage as their own and are hell bent on living up to its name.

Brute 1976 arrives on digital platforms on August 26th.
