CBS cancels Two and a Half Men, opts against How I Met Your Dad

May 15, 2014 by Gary Collinson

CBS has announced its upcoming TV schedule, revealing that the long-running sitcom Two and a Half Men will come to an end with its 12th season, and that the network has also decided against picking up the How I Met Your Mother spin-off pilot How I Met Your Dad.

The Chuck Lorre-produced Two and a Half Men was at one point the highest-rated comedy series on television, before losing two of its stars in Charlie Sheen and Anghus T. Jones, leaving Jon Cryer as the only original cast member alongside Sheen’s replacement Ashton Kutcher.

As for How I Met Your Dad, it seems that all hope is not lost as 20th Century FOX TV, HIMYM creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, and producer Emily Spivey are set to shop the pilot to other networks and that some interest has already been shown.
