Comic Book Review – Judge Dredd Classics: The Dark Judges #1

January 22, 2015 by Andrew Newton

Andrew Newton reviews Judge Dredd Classics: The Dark Judges #1…

His name is Judge Death and in his eyes all life is crime! Together with his brothers Fear, Fire, and Mortis, the super-fiend from Deadworld is determined to end all life in Mega-City One once and for all! This compilation features classic Judge Death tales from the pages of 2000 AD, including his stunning debut story by co-creators John Wagner and Brian Bolland.

There is no Dredd villain more perfect, more extreme and more disturbing than Judge Death.  Under the firm belief that all life is a crime and the sentence is death there is no doubt he is as committed to his duty as Dredd is.  However, despite his job dedication, he is the complete opposite to Dredd.

Judge Dredd Classics: The Dark Judges #1 by co-creators John Wagner and Brian Bolland brings us Judge Death’s very first appearance in the pages of 2000AD and not only that, the story also introduced fan favourite Judge Anderson of Psi Division who became so popular she eventually had her own storylines.

In this issue, Death comes to Mega City One to practice his permanent form of justice. Can Judge Dredd stop him before the death count gets too high? Make sure you buy this issue to find out.
