Comic Book Review – Zombies vs Robots #4

May 7, 2015 by Andrew Newton

Andrew Newton reviews Zombies vs Robots #4…

Astronauts on a dead Earth crawling with strange threats like oddly sentient zombies, robots and… Mermen! And more with The Orphan!

Last issue we saw humans finally set foot on Earth or at least in the sea once again only to be attacked by servants of the Merpeople.  We also saw the robotic Fritz Winterbottom  attacked by robotic drones and getting a bit angry about it.

This week will we find out what happened to the astronauts who landed and what role in the world will the Merpeople play?  We may also find out how angry Fritz Winterbottom will get.

Chris Ryall is still doing an excellent job on the story and I can’t fault his style at all. I am really enjoying the way he builds up anticipation on the story in one area then cuts to a different part and leaves you wanting more.

As always, Anthony Diecidue’s artwork is brilliant and adds atmosphere to the story.

I’m also enjoying The Orphan storyline by Steve Niles.  This story is, in a nutshell, excellent.  The bond between the little girl and the robot is lovely and is a great contrast to events unfolding in ‘Inherit the Earth’.  In this issue we will find out if Bot-bot is able to fight off the mechanical foe that came to them in last issue?

All in all, this is another great issue and one definitely worthy of adding to your collection.
